How long will my breast augmentation recovery take?

Return to work in as little as 2-3 days

If you are in great health before your operation your recovery from breast augmentation surgery should be fairly rapid. You may even be able to return to work 2-3 days after the surgery, depending on your expected level of activity. Your Mybreast surgeon will advise on a breast augmentation recovery plan, providing advice on when it is best for you to return to work and what level of activity is appropriate.

I'm amazed at how fast BA surgery with Mybreast is, 1 hour under anesthetic and an overnight stay in hospital. The scars I have are very small and neat, and I was back at work within a week so it didn't interrupt my life as much as I thought it would.EL

Taking care

Immediately after breast augmentation surgery you are bound to feel tired and your breasts may be a little swollen and painful to the touch. During recovery, it’s best to keep movement to a minimum for approximately 24-48 hours.

Feeling better

Once you have passed the first two days of breast augmentation recovery you should start feeling a little less restricted and be comfortable with a small amount of movement. It’s important not to engage in any strenuous activity for at least 3 - 4 weeks, as your breasts may still be sore throughout this period. After 3 - 4 weeks the swelling should almost be gone, and contact with your breasts should not be as painful, if at all. A simple mantra to follow is “If it hurts, don't do it”.

There was almost no bruising and the arnica that Mybreast provided in the homecare pack was really useful.EC
