Mr Atherton qualified as a doctor with a double distinction from St George’s Medical School London in 2000.
He undertook his basic surgical training in Cambridge and has been working as a Plastic Surgeon since 2003.
He was awarded an MD for his thesis on nerve injury from Imperial College in 2006.
He undertook his specialist plastic surgical training in a number of London’s premier teaching hospitals including Charing Cross, Chelsea and Westminster, Great Ormond Street and Royal Free.
He was awarded the FRCS (Plast) specialist examination in 2011. In addition, he has undertaken sub-speciality fellowships in craniofacial surgery; cleft lip and palate surgery and the prestigious Wellington Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship. His aesthetic interests include all aspects of aesthetic surgery, specifically breast and nasal surgery.
