Mr George Spyrou MD FRCS (Ed) MPhil EBOPRAS CCMS (Plast)
Mr George Spyrou is a highly qualified Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon. He developed a special interest in breast surgery very early on in his career, being the first plastic surgery trainee to ever successfully complete a Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship.
While in post he underwent comprehensive cross specialty training in all aspects of excisional, reconstructive, corrective and aesthetic breast surgery.
In addition, he gained further sub-specialist experience in cosmetic surgery with emphasis given to breast surgery and facial aesthetics by successfully completing the prestigious Aesthetic Fellowship at the Humana Wellington Hospital in London.
These two fellowships have given Mr Spyrou an outstanding foundation in cosmetic and reconstructive breast, facial, and body contouring surgery. Mr Spyrou is the only Plastic Surgeon in Yorkshire to have completed the above prestigious breast fellowships.
He is also one of the very few surgeons in the UK that has pioneered autologous fat breast augmentation with excellent results.
Mr Spyrou holds a substantive NHS consultant appointment at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield and is on the UK Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery. He undertakes all aspects of cosmetic surgery and the main bulk of his work is aesthetic breast surgery.
He keeps up-to-date with his general medical education, especially with the latest techniques in cosmetic breast surgery by regularly attending courses, meetings and seminars in the UK, Europe and USA. He is also a full member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).
Mr Spyrou is dedicated to his patients’ individual needs and provides the highest standards of consultation, advice, treatment and support before, during and after surgery.
