Mr James McDiarmid MBChB MSc FRCS (Plast) CCST ISAPS

Mr McDiarmid, a former NH Consultant Surgeon, has a vast wealth of experience in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery.

Breast augmentation is the most frequent cosmetic procedure he has performed each year for eight years since his appointment as Consultant Plastic Surgeon in 2000. He also frequently performs mastopexy (uplift of the breast) with or without breast implants, breast reduction and breast reconstruction.

Mr McDiarmid is very proactive and often comes up with ingenious solutions designed to make surgery smoother and more efficient, to maximise the quality of results for his patients.

In 2005 he was an invited faculty member at the European School of Breast Surgery, a Europe-wide training academy with a specialist interest in aesthetic surgery of the breast, where he presented his experience and approach to breast augmentation surgery.

Mr McDiarmid is also an internationally reputed trainer of young Plastic Surgeons and frequently hosts visiting surgeons from other countries. He also gives monthly seminars on Aesthetic Surgery in Plymouth and Cheltenham.

Mr McDiarmid has many interests in plastic and cosmetic surgery and frequently consults with other surgeons in the UK and abroad or attends meetings regarding recent developments in this field. That’s because his philosophy is rooted in a firm belief that knowledge and experience in surgery should be widely disseminated.

He provides the best possible care to his patients with whom he discusses their desires and needs in the context of their anatomy and health. This enables patients to feel comfortable and safe before, during and after the surgery.

Mr McDiarmid has now carried out more than 10,000 successful operations.
