Open Brow

Your surgeon will make a long incision across the forehead either around the hairline or in one of the creases of the forehead. The fatty tissue is removed, the muscles loosened and a section of skin removed. The skin is pulled down and the brow is fixed into its new position to the bone of the forehead.

Your surgeon will make a long incision across the forehead either around the hairline or in one of the creases of the forehead. The fatty tissue is removed, the muscles loosened and a section of skin removed. The skin is pulled down and the brow is fixed into its new position to the bone of the forehead.

This technique sometimes results in a higher hairline (not reported with the endoscopic browlift), although it is normal for the brow to look a little high and feel tight for the first few weeks following surgery.

The procedure is performed under either a local (with sedation) or general anaesthetic on an outpatient basis. In some cases, an overnight stay may be required.
