Patient Advisor and Surgeon Consultation
At MyBreast we pride ourselves on our best assets – our staff. One of the most important aspects of your experience with us is the staff who guide you through your surgery experience from start to finish. Not once in this process will you meet a sales person – we don’t have any. We have only Specialist Nurse Practitioners fully trained in the cosmetic surgery procedure that you are interested in and who have been with us for considerable time. Staff who put you at the forefront of the decision you are about to take. They will take the time to listen and understand your needs and the reasons behind your decision to embark on cosmetic surgery.
At MyBreast we believe in choice and you will have the choice to see a Specialist Nurse Practitioner in our London Clinic or to go straight to see a surgeon in a consulting room near you. We understand that the decision is a major one in life and that you may need to talk things through with a Specialist Nurse Practitioner to fully explore issues so that everything is clear in your mind before you meet a surgeon. Other people prefer to see the surgeon immediately. Everyone is different and that is why we feel that choice is crucial.
One of the unique points to choosing a surgeon through MyBreast is being safe in the knowledge that your surgeon is as well qualified as is possible in the UK. We have selected a group of nationally and internationally recognised experts in cosmetic plastic surgery, with specialist interest in aesthetic surgery of the breast. All of our consultant plastic surgeons have impressive qualifications and considerable experience in cosmetic plastic surgery.
All our surgeons are members of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and/or the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). These are the two organisations in the UK recognised by the Department of Health and the Royal College of Surgeons for the regulation of plastic surgery standards.
Our surgeons are all on the General Medical Council (GMC) specialist register for plastic surgery and all have a UK certificate of training (CCT) in plastic surgery, with a specialty fellowship in Plastic Surgery FRCS (Plast).
The surgeon you meet will be the surgeon who performs your cosmetic plastic surgery. They will see you for all your appointments leading up to surgery as well as the check-ups afterwards. You will build a relationship with just one person, who will understand your specific needs and case history. They will be there as your source of expertise through the entire journey. Just to reassure you, you will not be charged another fee for repeat consultations.
Our Specialist Nurse Practitioners are fully qualified specialist nurses with many years experience in cosmetic surgery. They have been hand-picked for their expertise, friendly manner and approachability. They are fully trained and up-to date in the procedures that we offer and this makes them completely able and qualified to answer your questions and guide you through the procedure you are considering.
- They will be with you throughout your journey as a point of contact, a friendly face and someone to whom you know you can turn for advice, reassurance and to answer any new questions that arise, either before or after you have met your surgeon.
- They will fully explain the procedure you are looking at and take you through every stage from your consultation with the surgeon through to pre-op preparation and post-op recovery.
- They will use before and after photographs to make sure that not only do you fully understand the procedure and possibilities but to also enable us to more fully understand exactly what you are hoping to achieve.
- They will use all of the information from this consultation to help crystallise the questions you want to take to your surgeon consult with you.
