PIP Implants - PIP Implant Update Jan 2012

Following the recent media coverage of the PIP implant investigations, MyBreast understand the concern that many women may feel prior to or going into breast augmentation surgery.

Mybreast would like to formally reassure our patients that PIP implants have never been used by our surgeons.

At MyBreast, our philosophy is to provide the highest standard of patient care. The implants our surgeons use have been selected after careful scrutiny and extensive research. Since August 2009, we have used British-made Nagor implants exclusively. These have a textured surface and 360-degree barrier shell technology. Prior to that, we used the Allergan Inspira implants, with patented Intrashiel technology.  Should patients have any other questions about their MyBreast surgery, our Patient Advisors are a phone call away to offer advice and reassurance.

The MyBreast surgeons are sympathetic to the concerns of patients who currently have PIP implants. They advise that PIP patients first see their original operating surgeons. Mybreast are happy to provide all PIP patients with a full consultation to undertake assessment and provide advice regarding possible treatment options.  These consultations will be with a BAAPS- or BAPRAS-registered surgeon, and advice will be given on the basis of the individual patient examination and current guidelines regarding best practice.
