MyBreast, with surgeons working all over the UK in quality private hospitals is one of the most well recognised and experienced providers of cosmetic surgery in the UK. With years of experience in guiding our patients through their surgery we recognise the areas you should consider when making this decision:
It is crucial that you ensure that your first consultation is with either a registered nurse who is trained in Cosmetic Surgery consulting or with the Plastic Surgeon who will actually perform your surgery. At MyBreast these are the only two options available and you will not meet with a sales person.
This is probably the most important part of the entire process. Choosing a Plastic Surgeon to perform your surgery from the thousands available in the UK can be daunting. Firstly, your surgeon should be a trained and qualified Plastic Surgeon and as such will be registered with the GMC. You can check their registration at GMC-UK.ORG. At MyBreast however, we do not believe that this is enough experience on its own and we only use Plastic Surgeons who have been invited to be members of BAPRAS and BAAPS and have a minimum of 15 years experience. You can then be absolutely sure that you have one of the most experienced Plastic Surgeons in the country carrying out your operation.
All of our surgeons work from hospitals and clinics registered with and regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission. You can and should ask to see their HCC registration certificate.
It is important that you receive all of your pre-op and post-op instructions in writing prior to your surgery date. At MyBreast we ensure that this happens and we feel it is a sign of quality and attention to the important details. You should also have a 24 hour phone number for your use after surgery should you need to speak to someone.
Check that your clinic has a clear and easy to access complaints procedure. Ask if necessary.
Check that the clinic has a thorough and easy to access revisions policy should it become necessary for your operation to be re-done.
Make sure that you use your consultation time to ask as many questions as required and that you are not rushed out when your time is up. At MyBreast we pride ourselves on giving our patients the time they need to feel happy at the end of the consultation. We also allocate every patient their own patient advisor to whom they have access at any time for those questions which pop up after the consultation.
When you have made it through all of the important areas above you are in a position to make your decision. At MyBreast we pride ourselves on having only the most experienced and qualified surgeons working for us and are dedicated to patient safety and quality results.
