Breast Enlargement London

Breast enlargement, commonly referred to as a boob job, is one of MyBreast's most popular procedures. This cosmetic surgery increases your breasts’ volume while creating a curvier shape using breast implants.

Many shapes and sizes of breast implants are available on the market today. We work with implant brands, including Motiva, Nagor and Mentor. Your surgeon will measure you and discuss the best options during your consultation.

How do I know if this procedure is right for me?

The reasons why women have breast enlargement vary. Whether you have lost weight, your breasts have lost volume after pregnancy or you were born with a smaller breast size, we want you to feel satisfied that you’ve made the correct choice for your body.

At MyBreast, we offer various consultations to ensure breast enlargement suits you. You’ll have consultations with your personal patient adviser and surgeon so you can feel confident in your decision.

After several thorough consultations, we’ll be open, honest and transparent about whether you are a suitable candidate or not. At MyBreast, we keep your wellbeing and safety at the forefront of everything we do.

Types of breast enlargement

The most well-known breast enlargement is using implants to enhance your size. However, we can also increase your breasts’ size using a fat transfer. During this procedure, we remove fat from other parts of your body and inject it into your breasts.

We’ll discuss the breast enlargement types that are suitable for you at your consultation.

Your breast enlargement journey with MyBreast

Before you undergo breast enlargement, we’ll talk about your goals and current and past health. You can ask any questions about the procedure at your consultations.

We’ll also speak to you about the potential risks of breast enlargement to ensure you’re fully informed. We’ll only proceed if we feel it’s ideal for you and the benefits outweigh any risks.

What happens on the day of my procedure?

Our friendly hospital team will welcome you on the day of your procedure. Your dedicated nurse will take you to a private room where you’ll also see your surgeon and anaesthetist before the surgery.

We typically ask patients to arrive a few hours before their procedure. Then, we can check if you're fit and well and give you time to relax and settle any nerves.

Breast augmentation surgery is usually carried out under general anaesthetic, meaning you will be fully asleep during the procedure. Once the anaesthetic has taken effect, your surgeon will begin making the incisions required to insert your implants.

We pride ourselves on making the smallest and most concealed incisions possible, with each one usually around four to five centimetres.

Three incision areas widely used for breast augmentation include:

  • The infra-mammary incision (under the breast fold)
  • The circumareolar incision (around the nipple)
  • The axillary incision (in the armpit)

Each incision has its advantages and disadvantages. You must discuss your final choice with your surgeon at the consultation before the procedure.

Once we have inserted the implants, we may reposition your nipple to match the new size of your breasts. Finally, the surgeon will stitch the incisions before taking you to the recovery room.

What happens after the procedure?

Once the procedure is complete, the recovery team will ensure you are fit and well before returning to your private room. We’ll provide your post-surgical compression garment, which you will wear when you wake up.

We will only discharge you once you are eating and drinking and medically fit enough to leave the hospital. It is essential to have someone collect you from the hospital and stay with you for 24 hours following your surgery.

Our experts recommend taking at least two weeks off work to recover and using this time to relax and recuperate. We’ll invite you back during the first two weeks to see our clinic nurse, who will remove your dressings and assess your progress.

You will see your surgeon around the six-week mark. However, this can sometimes happen sooner if needed.

FAQs

Surgeons usually perform breast augmentation surgery under general anaesthetic. Most patients come to the hospital early on the day of their surgery. Your breast enhancement surgery will then take place later that morning or early afternoon that day.

You can usually return home the same day. However, if we schedule your surgery for the afternoon, you may need to stay overnight before we discharge you the following morning.

The procedure typically takes between one to two hours, depending on your breast enlargement procedure.
